Charlotte serves as Chief Operating Officer [COO] of the Lewis Family’s Boston-based real estate development and investment firm, Kensington Investment Company [KIC]. As COO, she is responsible for the non-real estate investment portfolio, the development of 45 Townsend Street in Roxbury, leading KIC’s People and Culture department and guiding the family’s philanthropic endeavors as Vice Chair of the Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation [ALFF].
Charlotte is committed to ensure the company has a strong values-based culture and delivers an excellent experience for each of its residents. She is deeply engaged in the work of the ALFF’s Pinnacle Leadership and Team Development and believes in building strong teams through aligned values and clear goals. Charlotte is passionate about using business and philanthropy models to drive social change.
With her brother Ed, who serves as KIC’s CEO – they have set a bold 2030 vision for KIC to be the leading socially and environmentally responsible family Real Estate Development, Investment and Philanthropic organization.
Charlotte also serves as Vice Chair for the family’s travel companies, Overseas Adventure Travel, Grand Circle Cruise Line and Grand Circle, building on her parents, Alan and Harriet Lewis’s vision to help change people’s lives through international adventure travel.
Born and raised in Boston, Charlotte is passionate to help change young people’s lives in Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan neighborhoods through philanthropy, leadership coaching and experiential learning programs.
She is an avid sportswoman, world traveler, and philanthropic leader. She is married to Mike Aylward, a Boston Fire Fighter at Ladder 17 and former USMC Scout Sniper First Battalion, Twenty Fifth Marine Regiment, Fourth Marine Division. The couple best enjoy sharing adventures with their young and curious daughter.
